MODERN ENERGY PARTNERS

To help the UK achieve a cost-effective energy system transformation and deliver savings for consumers, it is fundamental that the sector develops expertise and stimulates the market for integrated energy efficiency solutions that combine low carbon distributed generation with smart energy demand management.

Aligned with the ambitions of the Government’s Clean Growth and Industrial Strategies, Modern Energy Partners (MEP) is a ground-breaking collaboration between the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Cabinet Office and Energy Systems Catapult (ESC), working with SALIX Finance Ltd, Crown Commercial Service and the public sector estate.

The Project Phase 1 of the MEP project ran between May 2018 and March 2019. As part of the project, MEP worked with private sector companies, DNOs and energy managers at four campus-scale public sector sites – including hospitals, military sites, universities and prisons – to develop integrated and optimised energy solutions that deliver benefits to individual sites and the wider energy system
